Big Brother Publicity For Virgin Games
Virgin Bets campaign aimed at online gamblers
Virgin Games has harnessed the marketing power of the UK television
reality series Big Brother 8 (BB8) sponsored by Virgin Media to
launch an online advertising campaign that will publicise its Internet
betting service, Virgin Bets.com.
The advertising deal will see a string of Big Brother related video
bets streamed on Virgin Media’s website for the length of
the current show. The advertising campaign will star magician Pete
Firman, of Channel 4’s Dirty Tricks, playing out betting markets
that relate to BB8 and its weekly round of evictions.
Josh Morris, Commercial Director of Virgin Games, said: “Virgin
Bets is all about fun and entertainment, so we wanted to make our
Big Brother campaign as entertaining and light hearted as possible.”
“It’s an ambitious project as the ads need to be signed
off within an extremely tight time-frame each week, however we were
keen to ensure the video content was up-to-date as possible in order
to resonate with Big Brother fans and keep things fresh.”
