Daniel Negreanu
For
Daniel Negreanu poker has always been the dream and he has taken that dream to
the next level by being the second highest money earner in history for
tournament play. But it has not always
been so easy. Negreanu started out
playing wherever he could, charity casinos and even some illegal games, which
has earned him the term Rounder as his life has emulated the now famous
movie. Things were not always easy for
Negreanu, who has earned the title Kid Poker.
He originally made a run on Vegas some years ago with a hefty bankroll
but the town got the best of him and he had to move back to Canada to
regain some money. This did not keep him
down for long though and it was only a short time before he made another run on
Vegas and this time came out in impressive style.
The
World Poker finals in 1997 would springboard his career and bring him into the
spotlight. He managed to win two events
and bring in over one hundred thirty thousand dollars in the process. With this win the momentum started to build
and he made a run on the World Series of Poker in 1998 winning a bracelet for
Limit Hold ‘Em. At that time he was the
youngest bracelet winner in history. He
managed to hold onto this title for six years.
Two
more World Series of Poker bracelets as well as several wins in the World Poker
tour moved him up to one of the most successful professional poker players in
the world. This only helped his image as
he was recruited by a newly opened casino to act as Ambassador and play for any
stakes in a private room. He did this
for several years before backing out to take on other interests with more money
involved.
The
ability to read another players tells is what Kid Poker is known for. While there is no known measurement for
accuracy on this concept, his overwhelming career is enough to say that he is
good at what he does. Besides being a
professional player, he also takes the time to write articles about the sport
and run his own internet card room where he plays under the name Kidpoker.
Daniel
Negreanu was born July26, 1974 and is originally from Romania, his parents moved the family to Canada in 1967
where Negreanu was born. At 32 years old
he is still one of the most fierce and competitive players in the game today.
