Kathy Liebert
Kathy Liebert was not the type to enter the sometimes
uncertain world of poker but she did and she is making history while doing
it. While there is a lot about her that
people do not know, she is actually one of the most fun people to play with
according to those that have played with and been eliminated by the younger
star. She started her life as an up and
coming financial employee for the famous Dun and Bradstreet. This did not last as long as some people
would like to think though because she was not fond of the corporate life in
the slightest. Thanks to some very
intelligent investments she was able to leave the company and travel the world
without an financial worries. This lead
her to the point where fate seems to have intervened. While in Colorado she joined a game as a prop player
then she was hooked. To satisfy the
hunger that she had for the game she began to enter the tournaments and then
she started to win. Before she knew it
she was up a million dollars thanks to the Party Poker Million match that she
managed to win. This was no surprise to
those who knew her best, as they realized that she will work at something until
she has found the end result that she desires.
This included a run on the World Series of Poker where she has claimed
one bracelet. This is quite the
accomplishment for someone who was not out for the money.
The
World Poker Tour has also been very kind to Liebert as she has claimed a few
titles while playing the circuit and a lot of money wins as well. The fact is that she has won more money, over
two million dollars, in open tournament play then any other woman in the
history of poker. Even though she wins
large sums of money on a fairly regular basis, she is anything but frivolous
with her money. Every time she has a win
she sets aside a certain amount of money for investing. This has insured that no matter what she will
always have the money to survive.
Liebert
was born on October 1, 1967 in Nashville,
Tennessee. At 39 she is still the top contender in the
ranks of women and continues to play some of the best poker that has been seen
in the history of the game.
