Michael Mizrachi
While it is not so widely known as other professional
poker players, Michael Mizrachi is still a highly skilled and competent player
that is making waves in the community.
However, poker was the farthest thing from his mind when he first
started life as an adult. Born January
5, 1981 in Miami Florida, Mizarchi was known for his high
level of intelligence and command of knowledge.
This lead to his entering college to become a doctor. All of this came as no surprise to his family
who knew that he was destined for greatness in the world of medicine but it all
came to an abrupt end.
While in college
he was introduced to poker, a game that he found fascinating. Applying his superior intellect to the game
he found that he was skilled in all manners and began playing for extra money
to get him through. As time went on he
became more and more enthralled with the game to an extreme extent. This caused him to make a life changing
decision, dropping out of college to go professional and full time. This decision was not one that was met with
happiness from his family but he was firm in his belief.
Even
though Mizrachi is a relatively young player he is still one of the most
staunch competitors in the game. His
first World Poker Tour event landed him in fifth place with a nice chunk of
prize money to go along with it. The
very next event brought him a first place finish and nearly two million dollars
worth of prize moneys. This cemented his
status in the poker world and he has been competing like a champion ever
since.
Mizrachi
has yet to crack a World Series of Poker main event but he has placed in the
money eight times in his short career.
He is not among the many bracelet winners in the ranks of the poker
stars but that is sure to change in the very near future as he continues to
make the best of his knowledge of the game of poker.
Mizrachi
is married with a young child. Not
wanting to be away from his family for long periods of time he bought a large
tour bus to take his family with him on the road. This lasted for quite a while but he decided
to sell the large vehicle because of its rapidly declining value.
