The software is one of the best we've played. The random shuffleing seems to
be very similar to that of the live games. Even though you will be witness to
pocket A's going up against pocket Q's from time to time, you won't see it every
4 to 5 hands like you do with some of the other sites.
Chatting is also a pleasant experience with most players having a certain level
of politeness. The tables you play at are round in configuration which strays
from the norm but it does allow you a clear view of everyone you're playing
against with the audio being top shelf. If you have a certain level of distractions
around you which is common place playing online from the comfort of your home,
you'll know when it's your turn, if someone raises or call, if someone folds
and even when someone just chatted to you.
The chat area is small and it does not show you your pocket cards like some
site. If I folded a hand, I usually forget what I had and am curious at times
to see if I would have won if I stayed in the hand or not. It does however,
have a hand history and astat tab where you can go back and see the outcome
or how many flops you've seen. You have your choice of scenery backgrounds at
your table. Why you would want to play underwater is beyond me, but personally
I like the Vegas scene

The free playing site of UltimateBet.net may be a decent site to learn your
poker strategies better, but if your trying to qualify for a free trip to California,
it's imperative you make it through the first hour and a half. These amateurs
will call, raise, and go all in with anything. It's the most rediculous spectacle
I have ever seen.
And if you think that's bad enough, try being in 3rd place with chips and
only 31 players left. I could easily of folded every hand until 25 players were
left and you're in the finals. But.......that's not how I play poker.
I was witness to watching players from my table chatting to each other from
a different table and telling each other what their pocket cards were, ganging
up on short stacks to assure themselves a spot at the final tournamet. Then
of course you have the players timing themselves out so the blinds go up forcing
short stacks all in.
The only support UltimateBet has is by e mail. These players were reported
to support, and two days later, still no response from them.
Play awhile at the free site and you will be able to stratgize quite easily
against the so-called poker players.
